ARTIST CHIT CHAT with Emma Carson-Drever of Linen Jungle
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself, who is the lady behind Linen Jungle?
Lover of design, flowers, colour & coffee. Mum of 3 so the coffee is a necessity!
As a child I dreamt of designing fabric and it wasn’t until I was a stay at home mum that I started to pursue that dream. Designing patterns was a creative outlet I needed. I love playing with colour schemes to create designs that bring joy and it’s been amazing seeing Aussie brands like what I’m doing.
2. How long have you been designing/when did you start Linen Jungle?
Linen Jungle started in 2020 when I began selling art prints on Instagram. The following year, I started designing pattern repeats and collaborating with Aussie brands.
3. What/Who/Where do you draw inspiration for your art from?
I’m inspired nature: the shapes, the colour and the feeling of being immersed in it. During lockdown, my family and I created a cut flower garden which has been a place of escape and inspiration!
4. What is your favourite thing about collaborating with other small businesses?
It’s been rewarding to see small Aussie businesses support me as an artist and bring my prints to life with just as much passion as I have for them.
5. What is your favourite piece from the new ‘Picnic’ collection?
I LOVE the picnic tiered dress. Nothing says Spring to me more then a swishy dress! It’s the perfect picnic dress.
